On the 20th Instant I took the liberty of addressing a Letter - a copy of which is subjoined - to Lord Aberdeen soliciting the appointment of Registrar or Clerk of the Court of Sindicture at Hong Kong and on the 22nd received an answer, a copy of which I also have the honor of forwarding herewith, referring me to your Lordship's department. I therefore presume to furnish Your Lordship with a copy of the Correspondence that has passed between the Post Master General, Sir Robert Jardine, and myself on the subject of an appointment for Hong Kong, hoping that your Lordship will pardon me for troubling you with these documents and receive my application favorably, and that there should vacant at Hong Kong your Lordship's office will confer some appointment.
